ATI Radeon 9800 PRO Acting Wonky With Dx Problems.

legacy-GOAL03-16-2004, 04:16 PMFinally tech support helped me out with this problem, after a day of waiting. I also tried turning on the Low Sound quality and it still didn't make a difference. Perhaps worth looking into if all else fails and you are using an ATI card. And speech to text too. :) legacy-GOAL03-17-2004, 07:20 AMI never turned the damn thing on. Check This Out

darn... I'll try the sound thing, but the sound settings are no different than the demo. I am having HUGE issues with the card though... It’s not cool. imp source

I'm really ticked off. If the problem goes away with sound disabled, make sure you uncheck the "Speech Recognition" checkbox on the Game tab of Settings. I'll keep it updated. Everything works ok after reboot.

But Alien Swarm crashes to desktop CaMpEr_DoOd07-20-2010, 08:36 AMIt's funny how they release a free game that doesn't work for everyone, they really should have tested this on a lot of I'm sure I meet the minimum requirements. legacy-aliengenius1003-24-2004, 12:16 AMI can understand the problem.

I downloaded the latest drivers, had the latest version of DirectX, and had everything turned off on my machine (Virus Scan, Datakeeper, etc). legacy-stimozi04-04-2004, 08:09 PMI uninstalled SpeechRegdist or something and it works perfectly now. I got around it by running TaskManager and killing the system tray app.

A little follow-up... And I know there are other people in this situation. It really seems like the hardware/software are not reacting fast enough when the game gets 'busy'. I may just wait and see if you've figured it out in the first patch you release.

I only first noticed it in Single Player on the first Team match (2v2) and in the 1v1 Challenge on Albatross afterwards. that could be true since I don't have any troubles with it in any other game. legacy-MrWaxhead03-19-2004, 08:38 AMI too am having this problem hardcore, also it seems everyone that has posted system specs here is on a radeon based card!!!!! navigate here I have a feeling they'll give a patch by tomorrow.

Also, could we have a "blur edging" setting so the aliasing isn't so conspicuous? Rage3D and Windows 2003 9700pro Softmod > Firegl X1 Dna 2.5.4.5 + Dna 2.5.4.5-64 UT 99 ( classic ) in opengl. Now that my drivers are in proper order, I still get the same problem, and can't play. something is obviously way wrong...

That's a good card, even if its old. i've tried system restore several times nothings worked i try to change the color manually nothing works ... Yes, and I verified cache files. And it's not like Fallout 2 was even a well made game.

What I did to remedy my problem of the mouse lag was going into my Settings for UT2k4 and Going to Misc and Turning off Text to Speech and Turning off None of these helped. legacy-Lhasa03-19-2004, 07:05 PMSo i think i've solved this problem on MY system. Also the game loads soooo slow.

I may just wait and see if you've figured it out in the first patch you release.

Also as mentioned the music starts skipping whenever it happens so maybe it is some type of sound problem? I'm runninf the Catalyst 3.10 drivers and tried the 3.9 but they don't make a difference.
