reboot. i can't imagine why these utlra high end next gen would casue shimmering. Without SSAA she will shimmer a lot due to low quality texture filtering, with SSAA she will not shimmer at all. Fact. #14 LittleNemoNES, Sep 13, 2006 Wreckage Banned Joined: Jul 1, 2005 Messages: 5,529 Likes Received: 0 Originally posted by: gersson There's shimmering but it's much worser on Nvidia cards. have a peek here
PowerDirector Tutorials, tips, free resources & more. It's sure worth a try. Do I need to select another production format? The only downfall is the images are compressed and resized for the web. http://www.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/39714.page;jsessionid=41EACAB0753E116EB705464BC5F2FD56
That's compounded by applying motion & compounded further by producing to DVD quality. That makes the pixelation worse. This game has at least some 3D graphics and they are obviously suffering from aliasing, even more so due to the low screen resolution. All rights reserved.
Rick-MONON11-23-2010, 03:50 PMI have XP with that issue, I am going to nvidia next time. I use the Natural Weather specifically for NO HDR. The shimmer very much reminds me of the kind of shimmering you get when you move while there is a lot of aliasing on screen. manager.
NV shimmers worse than ATi. This will essentially render the game at a larger resolution and then downsample it to screen resolution. Ugh! http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2046609 Is there noticeable gains to killing that service?
Also, have you tried creating a stand-alone version of MSTS with only one route (to further optimize memory usage)? Although it starts the display is black, you can click around the black screen, but nothing is visible. anyway OP Its a commonly discussed thing here. qballbandit12-01-2010, 02:07 PMHi Marc, Thanks for your response, it's much appreciated.
Nvidia Inspector is what I use now for full image quality control over an application. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1808916/flickering-texture-problem.html PowerDirector Tutorials, tips, free resources & more. Because I still have lots to learn in this particular department, I plan to do a lot of experimentation in both PhotoDirector 5 and PowerDirector 12 to firmly establish my parameters. This happened to me from not uninstalling the amd display driver correctly.
tried every conceivable card setting - from low to high settings, mixing the highs and lows of AA/AF/Mipmapping, etc. 5. navigate here CCC will not not effect FPS but it will effect image quality which the shimmering is a part of. The game is also simple enough to render directly to the screen back buffer, so it is possible to enable anti-aliasing from your graphics driver without a custom profile for this It works like dream on my machine......I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.My eyes can at last enjoy FS9.Kindest regardsAlan 0 Back to top #93 rhodges rhodges Member - 2,000+ Members
I only use HQ settings on my hardware and the shimmering is far worse on the Nvidia cards. #24 Ulfhednar, Sep 13, 2006 TanisHalfElven Diamond Member Joined: Jun 29, 2001 I did this the other day actually, and while i see an improvement on things like power lines, fences, railhead - vegetation still kind of sucks. GoGoran11-30-2010, 09:23 PMI have an Ati HD4350 and no shimmering issues at all. http://webstrategy360.com/ati-radeon/ati-radeon-question.html its bad.
Enabling Adaptive AA doesn't do a whole lot of good either (although it does make alpha textures look somewhat sharper, like it's supposed to do), plus turning it on causes a Click to expand... Thanks again, for having put that little slideshow together and sending it to YT for viewing.
It would have been awesome if it was possible to set screen resolution to 1600x1200, as most 1920x1080p monitors have support for this resolution in fullscreen, but just set it to Except for the GPU and RAM frequencies, which I do with MSI Afterburner. Improving the 3D will only make the sprites stand out more. You can download the DVD quality slideshow (same as the one on YT but produced to MPEG-2 DVD HQ) here - http://www.mediafire.com/watch/e37ddbnbubef42d/SS_DVD.mpg Cheers - Tony Filename SnapShot(16).png Download Description Filesize 420
