AVG And HijackThis

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Edited by bradumd, 12 October 2009 - 12:38 PM. Would it make sense to System Restore to before the first attempt at installing AVG 8 Free then un-install AVG 7.5 free before again downloading a fresh copy of AVG 8 Windows XP Pro SP2 desktop.

What gives? Then as a double check I removed Avast and reinstalled AVG and repeated the scan. when I opened it, it opened for like a second then it crashed. I just got a new update from AVG and now there is no detection of that Hijack exe as being infected. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/263879/cant-run-avg-malwarebytes-zztoy-hijackthis/

I did use Go Back and seem to have got rid of the 2nd alert. Do I go to Add/Remove programs and remove HJT completely, or what? Please re-enable javascript to access full functionality. No, but most of the HJT logs in here seem to have AVG on them, and somehow, the person has still managed to get something nasty. Page 1 of 2
