go over to answers.microsoft.com to view the questions asked by Bob and Betty users... I clicked on it and the save box came up with a .pdf extension. I'll keep dinking around and let you know if I remember/find anything else. I never stumble on that prompt any more.

Excellent after a year and half a workable work around, with just one step that appears to have been missed, I added them above. So you could use that to find out what exchange happens when you use the Save Target As...command. It opens the save box but the save item is, as you say, probably a script.
