I tried for three days and several different ways …leaving the computer run, trying this and that, hoping to get more updates but nothing happened. Another problem can be that the folder where the updates are installed is compressed. It shouldn't be this much work to use an operating system. Restart your computer. Thank you in advance as I'm sure you can offer some easy help for this senior from all the great comments received here.
I have a fair few updates to install now due to this; I can find the updates but Windows Update just won't download them at all. Note 1: Temporarily disabling the Startup Group only prevents the startup programs from loading at startup. Note 2: We can check on Normal Startup in the General tab to roll back to Normal Mode after we get this issue resolved.
